LDWA BILLING DEFINITIONS AND COLLECTIONS POLICY
PAYMENT POLICIES PURSUANT TO LDWA BY-LAWS
Effective September 1, 2011

1.  Invoices with Account Balances due are sent by First-Class U.S. Mail to the property owner of public record in the Billing Month following the Water Service Month.

2.  The Water Service Month is the month in which you receive Water Services.

3.  The Billing Month is the month following the Water Service Month.

4.  The Account Balance payment is due in full by the last day of each Billing Month.

5.  Account Balances not paid in full by the last day of the Billing Month will become delinquent and assessed a late fee of $5.00 or 10%, whichever is greater, on the unpaid balance.

6.  A subsequent bill for ongoing services will be sent out the following month.  Any amounts remaining delinquent from the prior Billing Month will be assessed a late fee of $5.00 or 10%, whichever is greater, and a Water Service Shut-Off Notice will be issued.

7.  Bills must be paid in full each month to avoid paying interest and receiving a Water Service Shut-Off Notice.  If payment [or arrangement for payment] is not made within 15 days of the Shut-Off Notice date, Water Service will be disconnected.

8.  If Water Service is disconnected, the customer will be required to pay the full account balance due plus an additional $150.00 Water Service Reconnection Fee before service will be reconnected.  Payment in full must be made by cashier’s check, money order or cash prior to reconnection of Water Service.

9.  It is your responsibility to make the monthly payment to LDWA upon receipt, and no later than the last day of each Billing Month.  Culinary water service is vital to each and every one of us.   Do not risk loosing your family’s culinary water service by ignoring your water bill.  Plan ahead.  If you know you will be away, please make arrangements to pay in advance.
